   Vibrant Surroundings

Close to hiking, skiing, sports attractions, and a theater festival

Fall brings a natural beauty to the landscape in Stephenville that is not to be missed. Hike to Lewis Hills, our highest geographic point, in October to see the vibrant changing of the season with bursts of gold and crimson. Once winter settles in, nearby Whale back Nordic Ski Park has groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, including night skiing. Other Stephenville sports attractions include the Caribou Curling Club, Pieroway Baseball Park, and Harmon Golf Club (as weather permits). The regional Aquatic Center offers a seasonal leisure pool, junior pool, tots pool, and a relaxing whirlpool. Stephenville is also home to the longest running theatre festival in Newfoundland.
