Pronounced am-kwes, the word Amgwes is a Mi'Kmaq word that means first as in "First and Foremost".

Amgwes Safety Inc. is owned and operated by Cecil Ryan. Cecil has worked in the construction industry for 34 years, the last 20 years he has been involved in safety. He now resides in Felix Cove with his lovely wife Shirley and a wonderful son Michael. Cecil is a proud member of the Qalipu First Nations Band.
